Cafehaus Brueckenbaeck in Wurzburg

The two of us went to have breakfast at the Brückenbäck on September 10, 2020. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The price-performance ratio wasn't really right. The hot drinks in particular were way too expensive. The food gave the impression of packaged supermarket sausage with baked rolls and not entirely fresh salad decorations. The service also left a slightly overwhelmed impression, even though it wasn't that busy ... We may just have had a bad day, but we were very disappointed and will most likely not stop by the Brückenbäck.

A very lovingly furnished café. The staff are very friendly. The range of food and drinks is plentiful. You have a wonderful view of the Main and the Main Bridge. The COVID hygiene regulations are observed. You feel very comfortable ... :-)

The burger pattie was very raw in the middle. Wasn't asked beforehand how I would like it. The pattie was put back in the pan on request, but the waitress didn't really care. In general, the cheeseburger wasn't worth € 10.50.

The cafe is romantic and beautiful ... unfortunately some employees are a bit annoyed ... I guess that the insane way of dealing with Corona is to blame, but there are also very charming employees ...

Great location ... right on the Old Main Bridge ... delicious breakfast in many variations, super appetizing and very tasty and fresh.

Wait about 20 minutes until you are served and the food came before the drinks. The food wasn't great either. The only positive aspect was a place in the sun. Otherwise there would have only been 1 star.

Spritzer € 5.50 and still the table wasn't wiped. Completely overloaded operation. Better to bring the wine to the bridge yourself. Good prospect therefore 2 instead of 1 star.

Very nice cafe, in a great location. DIRECTLY ON THE OLD MAIN BRIDGE, and yet not exposed to the hustle and bustle of the city center. Nice view of the fortress and the Main. Friendly service and service, good food and drinks. We recommend. DREAMY. All stars with all my heart. Addendum: An older and corpulent gentleman came in and was greeted warmly .... He said: he just wanted to drink a glass of water, the lady at the bar handed him a large one .... he asked what he was allowed to pay, she said: goes on the house✔✔❣❣

Nice place at the old Main Bridge, but the place is very busy at peak times. It's better to come outside of rush hour and enjoy.

Nice (morning) cafe. Tasty scrambled eggs with bacon. It is a pity that you cannot see the water from the terrace, otherwise a nice place.

Nice location with a great view of the Main and the Alte Mainbrücke. The service was attentive and friendly. It didn't have to wait long. The food (breakfast) was delicious and sufficient. The price is fair in the usual average. All in all very good! ?

Waiting is very important here! Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for a very simple breakfast. The vital breakfast is unfortunately very small. Shashuka was delicious. For fully automatic coffee you should not ask for € 3.50. Price / performance = two stars. Compliance with the mask requirement is consistently demanded and implemented, therefore three stars in total. What a shame!!! We came here on a recommendation and we are disappointed :(

We would have preferred the waitress with a Nose+mouth mask instead of a chin mask while handling our food...

Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast right on the old Main Bridge. We were lucky enough to get a table on the terrace. Our copious breakfast was consistently great. The prices are adequate for a tourist hotspot. If we are back in Würzburg, we will definitely go here again!

Great place with a beautiful view of the Main and the Würzburg old town. The waiters are very nice and attentive. No matter whether breakfast, coffee & cake or dinner, everything is very tasty and absolutely recommendable in terms of price. We love to come here. As a larger group you should definitely make a reservation.

Wanted to have the view of the river and Old Main Bridge hence choose this cafe for breakfast. Too bad they didnt allow me to have window table though there were empty tables around. Ordered scrambled egg, nice.. Oat porridge OK. I was too greedy to order 2 as one serving is good enough for a breakfast. The service was a bit cold..

Excellent service. Very fast. Pleasant atmosphere. I ordered a cappuccino and a slice of apple pie, all delicious. I didn't take a picture because I didn't want my companion to see me weird hahaha, next time.

The have stand inside where you can buy wine at normal restaurant prices (4.50 eur per glass). I took it and sit at a table outside. Waitress came and said that wine from the stand is only take away and I have leave this table, quite straightforward or just rude. Well, nobody made me aware selling this stuff.

It was the first place where I experienced the European relaxing life pace. I was on a tight sightseeing schedule that day and wanted a quick snack there. After waiting for a long while and seeing the owner leading other people to seats or attending another table, I tried to tell her that I was ready to order, she didn’t show any sign that she heard me, so I said it again. She suddenly turned inpatient and said Ja, ja, one minute. When I finished my meal, I saw her standing near me so I told her I wished to have the bill, she again didn’t show any sign that she heard me. I thought maybe it was the language barrier so I said I wished to pay. The she said “do you have no time?” It was true that I didn’t have much time so I can understand that in her opinion I was rushing. But I also felt that I was being ignored.

Right at the end of the alte main brücke is where you can find this fantastic cafe. I highly recommend making a reservation because this place fills up with a lot of locals in the morning for a quick breakfast. The food is wonderful the selection is varied and it has some decent price ranges. The best part of this place is by far the view. It doesnt matter where you sit in the cafe you have an outstanding view of Würzburg and the main river.

Were there for breakfast. Great selection, very good portion size and very friendly service! So you want that. Also, the toilets are in mint and clean condition. All in all, we succeeded.

You can order some german pastry and a coffee and and sitt to admire the river on a side and the fortrese on the other.

The service was very nice, however we had to wait an eternity. Honestly, I could have bought a young pig, raised it, let it become part of the family, butcher it in tears and eat it faster than getting breakfast there. The tables were small and the bacon lacked taste. The price was okay, so two stars

A good cafeteria and restaurant with beautiful views on the Main River.

To me this couldn’t be any more perfect. Sitting there with fresh orange juice, coffee, a beer for my man and two slices of cake. Watching the view out the window, sunny and then snowing and then sunny again, the water and boats. Watching the cook make all foods from scratch. Now all of this you won’t find all the time, especially good and polite German waiters. That’s a first. Thank you for a great experience, we will be back.

As suggested by locals this is definitely the best place in Würzburg for breakfast. They have menus in English available. The food is very reasonably priced and the service was quick and attentive. The bakery is easy to find along the side of the Alte Main Brücke. You can watch the river ships move through the locks while you dine. They have a small outdoor terrace when the weather is nice.

What a lovely spot to sit, relax and have a beautiful view of the Old Main Bridge and many other features of Würzburg. The Cafehaus Bruckenback sits at one end of the bridge, so you are definitely up close and certainly comfortable. Relax and enjoy refreshments while taking in all the sites. People watching is definitely featured.

Nice ambience and friendly waiters. Very good food with reasonable amount of choices of vegetarian dishes and often times also one vegan full meal alternative. The prices are a bit above average but adequate for the quality.
